As many of you would know, cancer care insurance is one that I often promote as I have first hand experience in the sacrifices and costs that are associated with surviving cancer. I was only 17 when my sister was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia and unfortunately, we had no medical insurance so the years of constant fund raisers and sacrifices began. The Caribbean specialist gave her three months to live and now, 21 years later, thanks to modern medicine and a fantastic medical team, she's still alive and well and celebrating 14 years in remission after a successful bone marrow transplant.
Medical bills are not the only bills faced by families when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer. Airfare isn't covered by medical insurance unless it's an air ambulance and even then, only if it's a necessity. Sometimes it results in loss of an income if someone is now unable to work.
The Cancer Care plan pays a lump sum upon diagnosis and continues to assist with medical bills and even has a term insurance attached for each covered member. Here are the benefits of the Cancer Care Plan:
- Lump sum of $60,000 upon diagnosis
- In hospital confinement income of up to $18,000/ month
- In hospital expense coverage of up to $20,000 for surgical procedures, $5,000 for blood and blood plasma costs, up to $2,000 for prescribed medication and up to $4,000 for cobalt, x-rays and chemotherapy.
